The Shandong Provincial Center for Medical Device Quality Inspection is the only medical device inspection institution in Shandong Province. It undertakes the inspection tasks for medical devices and pharmaceutical packaging in Shandong Province, and assists the provincial bureau in technical supervision and standardization of medical device product quality. The center is also a national-level inspection center for medical devices and pharmaceutical packaging materials (Jinan Medical Device Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of the State Food and Drug Administration, Jinan Pharmaceutical Packaging Quality Testing Center of the State Food and Drug Administration), a medical device and pharmaceutical packaging quality supervision and inspection institution approved and accredited by the State Food and Drug Administration and the China National Committee for Laboratory Accreditation. The center mainly undertakes supervisory spot-check inspection, product registration (including import registration) inspection, quality certification inspection, arbitration inspection, scientific achievement appraisal and commissioned inspection of medical infusion, transfusion and injection devices, medical polymer materials, biomaterials, hygiene materials, biochemical reagents, medical electromechanical products, physiotherapy products and other products nationwide, as well as registration and supervisory spot-check inspection of pharmaceutical packaging materials and containers. The center has all kinds of large and precision testing instruments and equipment, laboratories and clean-grade animal facilities required for testing, as well as relevant international standards, national standards, industry standards and technical materials.
